The Smart Accountants are a multi-disciplinary practice with UK-wider reach, but they didn’t have the depth of specialist resources needed to provide a comprehensive R&D tax credits service. With the R&D tax scheme becoming more widely understood across their client base, they realised that they were potentially missing out on valuable opportunities to better support their clients and to help them unlock the tax rebates that their clients deserved.
The Easy R&D partnership team has worked with The Smart Accountants since 2019, servicing a wide range of their customers, delivering an additional added-value R&D tax credits service. With a combination of The Smart Accountants’ strong client relationships and added value marketing and content assets provided by Easy R&D’s tax experts, a significant new revenue stream and a new component to their service.
In the last three years, we have made successful claims totalling over £2.5 million on behalf of their clients, bringing valuable capital back from HMRC into their customers’ balance sheets. One Smart Accountants client, a technical laboratory working on COVID responses, required special attention since the start of the pandemic; they alone have now successfully claimed in excess of £743,000 in R&D Tax Credits, fuelling their research, innovation and growth.
